Мало кто знает, что Кубрик профессионально снимал. Еще в средней школе он был выбран официальным школьным фотографом, а в 17 лет стал подрабатывать в журнале Look репортажами о послевоенной жизни Нью-Йорка, фиксируя концерты, спектакли, цирковые представления, светских персонажей, жизнь актеров и музыкантов. Наряду с неизвестными прохожими в объектив Кубрика попали самые блистательные звезды послевоенной эпохи.
